- Soft and hard pastels - the most common.
- Pastel pencils - similar to hard pastels.
- Oil pastels - the same pigments but bound in waxes and oils.
In my opinion pastels are one of the easiest types of art to work with. A main tip to remember though is to start at the top and work down, unless you want to smear all the hard work you did. Mixing colors are another importance for a great piece of artwork, but when you consider mixing remember to mix little at a time and add more gradually until you have the color you desire. For most people they will want to keep their artwork for a long time so I would suggest you spray an adhesive over it to preserve it longer.
My Pastels

This is a very great way of blending colors but gets really messy :)
ReplyDeleteI love pastels! They get all ove your hands, but they're so vibrant!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some great pastel projects! I like to use pastels, but it gets really messy.... There is nothing like walking around school with pink and blue fingers, but it does blend well.
ReplyDeleteBy "ground" do you mean the background? Is there a particular adhesive you would recommend?
ReplyDeleteI like your dolphin picture, it's really pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are beautiful! The dolphin one is my favorite and seems like pastels are kind of hard to work with but seem fun!
